The position can work from Kansas City, Mo., or Houston, Texas

What We're Looking For:

Responsible for planning, directing and conveying the HNTB brand, vision and unique value proposition to key audiences nationally and in multiple geographic regions. Works with executive, division and office leadership, as well as marketing, sales and government relations functions of the firm to build HNTB's profile by developing and implementing specific brand-building programs. Collaborates with freelance writers, designers and photographers.

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Developing, managing and implementing a comprehensive communications and brand-building program targeted to specific audiences to advance HNTB business goals in Texas and selected cities in the central U.S. Includes:

  • Strategic planning

  • Communications support of business-development efforts

  • Direction of PR/communications consultants

  • Event development and oversight

  • Management of publicity polling efforts

  • Social media

  • Media relations

  • Collateral development

  • Budget management

  • Proven broad communications/PR/brand-building expertise

  • Proven ability to develop and implement communications programs to support business goals

  • Strategic thinker/idea generator

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent time-management and project management skills

  • Demonstrated experience in media relations, social media and other digital media

  • Thrives on teamwork and collaboration

  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels

  • Willingness to travel

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads PR and brand optimization efforts in multiple geographic locations. Manages key HNTB public relations agency partners as needed. Manages budgets and works with office and division leadership in key geographies to develop and administer an annual program utilizing media, public, government and community relations to advance the firm’s brand and support business goals in a region.

  • Supports market sector-focused public and media relations.

  • Supports national media relations efforts in mainstream media.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing

  • 10 years agency or corporate environment experience
