This position, in Overland Park, provides diverse experience in marketing communications.
We are looking for an energetic and strategically-minded communications intern to support communications activities that promote our national security mission, drive recruitment and enhance the employee experience. This individual will join a top performing communications team and rotate through various communications positions including internal, public relations, community outreach, marketing and digital media. This is a unique opportunity to learn from the best and launch your career in corporate communications. Entry level position performing projects involving internal & external communications, social media, multi-media, branding, public affairs, community outreach and event planning. This position will be located at our campus in Overland Park, Kansas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute & create content for both internal and external use, including social media
Support the planning and execution of internal and external events & activities, coordinating resources as directed
Assist in development and production of marketing materials (brochures, flyers, etc.) and other promotional materials
Write and distribute news releases
Engage in intern activities, support diversity & inclusion
Comply with all security requirements and departmental processes
YOU MUST HAVE
Currently enrolled in a degree program in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or English
Minimum of at least three years college education at the time of employment
Available to work May -August 2020
Must continue enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship
Must graduate after December 2020
This position requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
