This communicator will help create and manage internal communication projects. The successful candidate will be a self starter, have strong project management skills, have the ability to balance varying priorities and understand how to tie internal communications back to the strategic plan. The specialist will be responsible for supporting or managing the internal communication initiatives.
Responsibilities
Internal Communications
Developing and executing communications plans to promote the various programs, growth initiatives, and internal brand message for the company.
Working in partnership with corporate managers, committee chairs, and others to ensure that internal communications strategies, messages, and tactics are aligned with business objectives.
Partnering with other marketing specialists in the department to write articles for Terracon’s internal newsletters, as well as acting as an advisor to make sure the messaging is tied to our strategic plan and business objectives.
Writing internal audience-oriented communication. Developing communications for a variety of audiences from individuals working in the field to professionals, as well as to individuals in different geographic locations within the United States.
Writing for change management and gaining the support of local office operations.
Use artistic abilities to organize information into charts and graphics that better communicate the message. Work with graphic designer to build illustrations for various projects that help audiences better understand the information.
Exercises good project management skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities under short timeframes and quick turnaround times. Ability to manage several projects at once with attention to detail and follow-through.
Works closely with HR and Safety departments to write regular communications for campaigns and rollouts that strengthen our internal brand strategies.
Support and reinforce Terracon’s internal social collaboration strategy.
Supports the C-level with presentations, articles, and other communications to employees.
Writing and Content Development
Must be able to write, edit and proofread different types of internal communications for various audiences.
Ability to suggest headlines, themes, and creative messaging for various types of communications.
Excellent proofreading and grammar skills.
Metrics and Research
Looks for opportunities to improve internal communications programs by conducting research and trend assessments.
Safety and Quality
Follows safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, branding or related field and a minimum of 6 years’ related experience. Industry experience preferred. Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
