We are searching for a Vice President of Marketing who understands how to turn great ideas into transformative, innovative and authentic marketing that will propel our brands even further as we expand across the globe. This marketing leader will office out of Kansas City and will bring their enthusiasm, strategy and creativity to our business every day while supporting our collaborative, positive and entrepreneurial environment that makes us Team Essense. This person will have a successful track record for taking a creative and data-driven approach to marketing, understanding how storytelling and content come to life across all channels – in a conventional and sometimes unconventional way. We aren’t afraid to do things different, and this role will be at the forefront of challenging the status quo while leading a high-performance team of digital, social and content management experts within our Marketing Department. This role will report to our Chief Creative Officer and lead the strategic marketing planning and development for our award-winning brands and stores, while leading all video and photoshoots, social media channels, and print and digital marketing efforts. The Vice President will be an advocate for Marketing cross-departmentally, consistently bringing smart strategies and solutions to the table and fostering relationships with sales, design, customer service and our brand experience teams to deliver innovative, impactful marketing initiatives. This person will be a champion for our stores and brides, driven by a curiosity and passion to motivate and inspire creative thinking resulting in powerful and meaningful marketing. The Vice President will seek and foster key relationships with our stores, as well as vendors and partners within the fashion and bridal industry to continue to position us as leaders, innovators, tastemakers and more. Brick-and-mortar is alive and well in our world and the Vice President will marry the best online and offline strategies to create high impact, engaging marketing that sets us apart and drives brides in store. A bit of grassroots thinking combined with an appreciation and understanding of the power of public relations will also help this role push boundaries and reach today’s brides and those of the next generation.

Responsibilities
• Model and drive end-to-end and 360 strategic planning, storytelling and execution across social and digital channels and content.
• Develop forward-looking plans and calendarization of activities based on data, actionable insights, and test and learn approach to new initiatives.
• Nurture a culture of innovation, curiosity and data-driven decision-making to maintain our reputation as the industry leader internally and with our stores.
• Create a vision for integrated storytelling ensuring all channel and asset management plans are developed and executed with the end purpose and user in mind.
• Oversee development of the content calendar, creation, curation and execution for our brands and stores that drive conversion to the site, demand for our products and brand insistence.
• Synthesize insights from qualitative and quantitative research gathered from brides, stores as well as other data sources and create plans briefs from this data to drive creative and executional output.
• Conduct market research and solicit feedback through multiple channels to support marketing activities & decisions; analyze data to measure overall marketing activity impact and regularly report to senior leadership.
• Develop end-to-end processes that optimize content created and curated through internal shoots and influencers.
• Develop detailed project plans and provide oversight of project scope and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met consistently.
• Lead on-going optimization and enhancements of digital and social plans to build communities and advocacy and ultimately drive brides through the funnel.
• Foster an environment that encourages and invites organic and robust collaboration with stakeholders and partner teams.
• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of marketers to ensure goals and audience expectations are always exceeded, and that our brand is well represent.
• Manage team project workflow, ensuring daily, weekly, monthly projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Lead a disciplined process to secure, interpret and apply bride and store feedback, and engagement and site metrics to key partners across the company.
• Develop and manage overall media plan and strategy and manage vendor contracts and relationships.
• Provide oversight of all marketing materials produced by department for support of sales activities and for store use.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related emphasis required. Master’s in business administration or related emphasis preferred.
• 10+ progressively responsible experience in Marketing or a related function.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory management capacity with demonstrated ability to motivate high-performance teams.
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to motivate high-performance teams.
• Demonstrated ability to think holistically about marketing strategy with hands-on experience in bringing strategies to life.
• Exceptional writing, communications, and presentation skills, especially in developing the story architecture, and creating briefs that provide the creative and content teams with the information to deliver compelling messages.
• Experience presenting to executive leaders, board members, media, analysts, C-level customers and diverse internal and external audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork skills with ability to work across diverse partners, vendors and audiences
• Strong analytical aptitude with an ability to quantify data and feedback from multiple sources, channels and stakeholders to drive Marketing decisions and activities.
• Procedure and process oriented with ability and inclination to document, socialize and hold others accountable for procedures.
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours on an occasional basis according to business needs.
• Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• High level of emotional intelligence and organizational awareness to allow for effective individual and team leadership as well as collaboration and leverage of expertise across the company.
