Personnel changes at the world headquarters will help IABC better expand and serve its members.
By Amanda Fisher-Penner
KC IABC President
In late September, IABC members received an email announcing two leadership changes at the international level. We want to reassure our local members that all is well with both Kansas City IABC and IABC.
Recent changes to the www.iabc.com website and internal changes to our member management platform presented new challenges and obstacles. IABC’s announced change in leadership provides a senior staff with more expertise in technology implementation and member services. This is vital as IABC pursues goals to grow the organization.
Locally, we will see little to no impact from this change. KC IABC will continue moving along seamlessly. Our 2019-2020 board is stacked with engaged and strategic leaders who I believe will continue advancing our chapter.
I am genuinely excited for what KC IABC has in store. The Connect2Comms regional conference is in town October 16-18, followed by our local Business Communicators Summit this winter. Our 2020 lineup for monthly sessions will offer expanded opportunities for you to participate. We are also enhancing communication, including…drum roll please … a new website!
If you ever have a concern (or compliment) about KC IABC, my door is always open.
We are also fortunate to have KC IABC member Matt Tidwell, Ph.D., APR as an member of the International Executive Board. He also feels IABC’s future is extremely bright and would be happy to answer any questions.
