The Kansas City-based position will work for the agency’s Economic Research Service.

The USDA’s, Economic Research Service is seeking a public affair’s specialist. This position is located within the Publishing Services Branch of USDA's Economic Research Service in Kansas City. Duties include reviewing/editing economic reports, research and other written materials and assigning work to other editors on the team.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews the final publication to ensure it is free of bias or institutionalized discrimination and that it reflects and promotes cultural diversity.

  • Uses a variety of methods, techniques, and vehicles in achieving communication goals.

  • Works closely with economics experts to develop and produce a well-rounded body of work through strategic communication planning.

  • Assigns work to editors and electronic publication specialists.

Qualifications
Experience planning and managing of communications programs; advising on strategies in conveying information and educating the public; and developing content for strategic external communication plans or other written materials for an organization.

Salary $92,159 to $119,810 per year
