Job Title: Communications and Outreach Coordinator
Overview: The Communications and Outreach Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing the City of Ottawa’s communication and engagement strategies.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities
Strategic Communications
• Develop and execute integrated communication plans.
• Coordinate messaging with the City Manager and Multimedia Specialist.
• Support emergency and crisis communications.
Community Engagement
• Plan public forums and outreach campaigns.
• Act as a liaison between the city and the public.
• Promote accessible and inclusive community participation.
Content Development
• Draft and edit press releases, social media, newsletters, and more.
• Maintain the city’s communications calendar.
Administrative Support
• Prepare materials for leadership and track engagement metrics.
• Ensure branding, legal, and communication standards are upheld.
Qualifications: Qualifications Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, Journalism, Public Admin, or related field. Preferred: • 3+ years in a communications or outreach role, ideally in government. • Experience with emergency communication systems (e.g., Everbridge) is a plus.
Salary Information: Range: $60,382.60 - $84,531.20
