I started volunteering with KC IABC in 2009, helping with monthly events. As a new pro at time, I joined for professional development and networking opportunities. I’ve since served on the board in various capacities.

I manage B2B social media strategy for the Children’s Hospital Association.

Building new processes and programs that help drive success for the organization.

My current board role involves getting students involved in KC IABC activities. I see it as a way to both help these students develop as professional communicators and help grow the chapter.

A strong network is incredibly valuable to professional development, and it’s essential to be proactive about nurturing it.
𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻?
My biggest “What if…” is around turning down an opportunity to do sports play-by-play/color commentary.
KC IABC is a 100% volunteer-led organization. Behind the scenes, these committed board members make things happen.
