Overview: We are looking for an experienced communications professional to be a part of our talented, inclusive, and collaborative Employee Communications team. The Strategic Communications Manager position will drive consistent communications strategy, planning and messaging internally across the organization. In addition to strategic messaging and stakeholder engagement, this role will also support content development and editorial planning, coordinate creative assets, and contribute to measurement and reporting efforts. The candidate should be comfortable analyzing communications data and applying insights to improve engagement and effectiveness.
Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead the implementation of internal communications strategy and messaging aiming to increase employee engagement and message clarity.
Create and deliver internal communications content across multiple channels, including email updates, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations.
Proactively work with key stakeholders, including executives, across the organization to ensure that all internal communication is aligned with business objectives and supports the company’s culture and values.
Identify and implement innovative communications tools and techniques to enhance internal communications effectiveness.
Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis. This includes gathering engagement data, analyzing trends, and reporting insights to communications leadership.
Maintain an enterprise content calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely, relevant, and efficiently organized.
Collaborate with business enablement function leaders including HR and Marketing for planning and content development for meetings and other internal events.
Partner with all members of the Employee Communications team to proactively identify, create, and publish content, while also supporting editorial planning and long-term scheduling of communication initiatives.
Support critical organizational change initiatives, leading development of multichannel campaigns to boost engagement and adoption
Qualifications: 7+ years relevant experience Understand and be able to communicate strategy, tools, processes and concepts, making complex technical information understandable to diverse audiences. Strong written and verbal communications skills including strong editorial skills. Strong knowledge of communications strategy and channels. Proven ability to develop consistent messaging aligned to business strategy. Skilled at engaging in cross-functional teams and in working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Overview: We are looking for an experienced communications professional to be a part of the leadership team for our talented, inclusive, and collaborative Employee Communications team. This role leads the Business and Execution communications workstream, providing strategic counsel, planning and execution support for BV Operations, Infrastructure Advisory and Black & Veatch’s market sectors. The Strategic Communications Director will translate enterprise strategy, business priorities, and operating model evolution into clear, consistent and measurable communications that build understanding, engagement and connection among employee-owners. This role works closely with executives, Chiefs of Staff, business leaders, marketing partners and Employee Communications team members to develop proactive communications strategies, message platforms, editorial plans, leader communications, internal campaigns, town hall support, storytelling and content across multiple channels. In addition to strategic messaging and stakeholder engagement, this role will ensure governance around systems, processes and tools optimizing them for continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, executive presence, editorial judgment and the ability to connect enterprise priorities to practical, audience-specific communications for corporate, operational, field and construction audiences.
Responsibilities: Guide capacity management of direct reports while leading a workstream focused on aligning communications with business needs for the company’s sectors, client segments, regions and operations groups.

Salary Information: Annual salary range: $45,000 - $52,500. Full-time, year-round position with a hybrid work schedule, including one day per week in our La Cygne, Kansas office and additional on-site presence for events and programming. Occasional evening and weekend work required for community events, programs, and fundraising activities.
