JuliAnn Graham โข Vice President, Communications and Website Coordinator
How long have you been involved with KC IABC and how did you get started?
I first joined KC IABC in 2003 and even served briefly on the board. After moving away, I reconnected when I returned to Kansas City in 2023. I started volunteering with the BCS committee, and it was a great way to jump back in and meet fellow communicators.
Whatโs your day job?
Iโm a program manager at the American Academy of Family Physicians in Leawood, where I lead integrated marketing campaigns that engage and educate family doctors.
Whatโs the most gratifying thing about your day job?
Working with people who are making a difference in health care. I also get to work with and learn from some incredibly talented colleagues.
Favorite place to be when youโre not at work?
The pool! Outdoors in the summer and at the local Y when Kansas weather drives us inside.
You sound pretty busy. Why/how do you make time to serve on the board?
Volunteering is important to me, so I prioritize and make room for it. Giving my time gives something back to me, too.
Whatโs the most important thing youโve learned from KC IABC?
Relationships need to be nurtured to thrive. KC IABC is a great reminder that staying connected takes intention.
Do you have a career path not taken?
Teaching. I admire the educators in my life, and I think I would have enjoyed teaching.
Do you have a favorite quote?
โLife is brief and very fragile. Do that which makes you happy.โ
KC/IABC is a 100% volunteer-led organization. Behind the scenes, these committed board members make things happen.
