Can Hardly Wait: Communicators Reunite at BCS in February

As we enter into 2023, I’m looking forward to a reunion. Technically, two reunions, but you aren’t here to hear about Olathe East’s class of ‘03 plans.

I’m eagerly awaiting the annual KC IABC Business Communicators Summit on February 23. I’ve always circled the BCS date on my calendar, as it’s been the best professional development opportunity in our region since I can remember. But this year, it will be different.

KC IABC had a very successful BCS in early 2020, just before our lives were upended and our “new normal” began. In 2021 and 2022, I experienced BCS from my home office. Our BCS leaders and KC IABC board members pivoted to execute top-notch virtual programming, and our speakers and topics remained strong. But there’s no substitute for the magic that happens when Kansas City’s best marketing and communications minds gather in person, to connect and learn.

As a KC IABC board member, I’ve seen the 2023 BCS agenda come together, and we are in for a full day of heavy hitters from Kansas City and beyond.

I always leave BCS inspired to be a better communicator and leader, and I have no doubt that our keynote speaker Mark Schumann will provide inspiration and practical advice for all. After that, it’s a who’s who of communicators and community leaders – too many to name here, but trust me, you’ll want to be at KU’s Edwards Campus on Feb. 23.

Grab your tickets now, before the price increase, and plan to reconnect with old friends and mentors, meet new friends and future colleagues (shout out to our student attendees and the energy they bring!), and soak up wisdom from each session and conversation.

I feel like the family in the Disney World commercial from the early 2000s – too excited to sleep!
