KC IABC has been an important part of my professional growth throughout every stage of my career.

I first joined IABC as a young, corporate communications professional 18 years ago. The community was an important part of my early development. Learning from veteran professionals at events, the honor of being recognized with Quill awards, and the opportunity to share my experience as a presenter – all contributed greatly to honing my communication skills.

Even though I had a valuable experience with IABC, as happens, I eventually let my IABC membership lapse for several years. About four years ago, I re-engaged in IABC. I am so glad I did.

As my level of engagement with IABC has continued to evolve, including a couple volunteer roles during the past few years, one thing has stayed constant – the need to continue learning and growing. Every event I attend provides me with new learning opportunities and important reminders. The opportunity to hear how my colleagues are finding success and addressing challenges in the ever-changing industry is priceless. Meeting new people and catching up with former colleagues is just an added perk.

Regardless of where you are in your career, being part of the KC IABC community brings many benefits. Whether you are looking for occasional professional development events, interested in networking, or looking for an opportunity to share what you have learned from your own experiences, there is truly something for everyone to gain from the community.

March membership month is the perfect time to renew or join. Join IABC in March and receive a 10 percent discount. Plus, be entered to win prizes locally and nationally.

Don’t put it off any longer! Renew or join today!
