The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation was established in the mid-1960s by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Ewing Marion Kauffman. Based in Kansas City, Missouri, the Kauffman Foundation is among the largest foundations in the United States with an asset base of approximately $2 billion.
The Foundation’s vision is to foster “a society of economically independent individuals who are engaged citizens, contributing to the improvement of their communities.” In service of this vision, we focus our grant making and operations on two areas—education and entrepreneurship—which our founder, Ewing Kauffman, saw as two ends of a continuum. A quality education is the foundation for self-sufficiency, preparing young people for success in college and in life. Many young adults will work in businesses started by entrepreneurs. Some will become entrepreneurs themselves, providing jobs and wealth for society.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for growing engaged entrepreneurial communities. The Senior Content Marketing Specialist will not only drive traffic to New Entrepreneurial Learning properties (FastTrac, 1 Million Cups), but will also focus on moving web visitors through the New Entrepreneurial Learning marketing funnel and into offline and online programs where they will find inspiration to start a new business.
The ideal candidate is responsible for content and channel strategy (email, web, social, community) and execution of integrated digital marketing campaigns. The Senior Content Marketing Specialist is confident in recommending strategies and tactics to achieve program goals.

The Senior Content Marketing Specialist will be expected to work across the New Entrepreneurial Learning team to manage execution, external vendors and help to define additional marketing resources.
This position will also work directly with the product team to optimize content across specific channels in order to maximize conversion rates.
Specific Responsibilities include:
 Create and curate content (including articles, blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, reports, webinars, infographics, videos, etc.) that attracts high-quality audiences to owned properties (website, blog, forums, email, social, landing pages, etc.).
 Acquire new leads by converting digital traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and by working with others to optimize the user experience.
 Build and manage the editorial calendar. Define editorial standards for maximizing content success on all channels, including website, blog, social media, email and other communication channels.
 Identify successful content and map out new ways to repurpose. Identify low-performing content and optimize for better performance.
 Understand SEO, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution and measurement. Conduct keyword optimization research for new and existing content pages.
 Optimize marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content and social channels.
 Collaborate with internal teams and departments, external agencies and other vendor partners.
 Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or strategic communications. Other degrees combined with relevant experience will be considered.
Work Experience: 5-8 years of digital marketing, content marketing and/or product marketing experience.

Travel: Requires up to 25% occasional business travel regionally and nationally.
Qualified candidates for this position must be highly motivated, capable of self-direction, detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a teamwork capacity. Candidates must exhibit a keen sense of responsibility and enjoy working with multiple demands, shifting priorities and constant change.
A successful candidate profile:
 High attention to detail and proven track record in assuming ownership, driving results and moving quickly to implement ideas in a fast-paced online environment.
 Experience creating and curating content for the web and growing an engaged audience.
 Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create or curate it.
 Clear communicator who can educate, motivate, inspire and entertain.
 A passion for data and human behavior. Skilled at synthesizing information, forming customer insights and presenting both results and data-driven recommendations.
 Extensive practice leveraging Google Analytics and other data collection tools.
 Experience with SEO/SEM, email, social media, display advertising and an array of additional inbound marketing tactics to drive acquisition.
 Understanding of content testing strategy and assessment, with a focus on A/B and multivariate tests.
 Knowledge of marketing automation, CRM and other technology tools that enhance digital and inbound marketing efforts.
 Experience and expertise in content marketing to drive awareness, traffic and engagement through the entire sales and marketing funnel.
 Excellent common sense judgment. Ability to sell ideas across an organization, manage expectations with others and remain flexible in an ever-changing environment.

A competitive compensation package, including base salary and an outstanding benefits package will correspond to the experience level, credentials, and personal characteristics of the candidate.
